Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd, (JODHPUR DISCOM) has been established under the Companies Act,1956 by Govt. of Rajasthan. The Jodhpur Discom has been created with the principal object of engaging in the business of distribution and supply of electricity in 10 districts of Rajasthan, namely Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jalor, Sirohi, Pali, Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu. The area of operation of Jodhpur Discom is 182509 sq. km. And the population in this area is 153 lacs as per 1991 census. The power supply in the Jodhpur Discom is managed by 8 distribution circles i.e. Jodhpur City, Jodhpur Distt., Pali, Barmer, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Shri Ganganagar and Churu.
ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE
Jodhpur Discom is managed by the Board of Directors, Chairman and Managing Director is the Chief Executive. He is assisted by various departmental heads at the corporate level. The field organisation is divided into 8 operation and maintenance circle under two zones. Each circle is further divided into divisions and sub divisions which are the lowest operational unit. GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY
The electricity supply to customer is governed by general conditions of supplies and miscellaneous charges under the Electrcity (Supplies) Act, 1948 as amended from time to time.
SETTLEMENT COMMITTEES.
In order to expeditiously settle disputes with out resorting to legal remedies, settlement committees have been setup at various levels where disputes are resolved after mutual discussions. The financial limits of various levels settlement committees are as under:-
Sub Division : Up to Rs.5000
Division : Up to Rs.10,000
Circle : Up to Rs.50,000
Zone : Up to 2.50 lacs
Corporation level : Above 2.50 lacs
